Hearst
Ontario, Canada

Welcome to another instalment of “On The Road To” (OTRT) where we share short snippets of our aerial work and current projects as we travel Canada and the world. Explore with us the many beautiful parts of the world we live in and be there too, vicariously, through our aerial lens! For even more videos check out our featured projects here.

The city of Hearst, Ontario, Canada, population of about 5,000 people, is one of the most northernest destinations in the province that is accessible by road. Located well above the 49th parallel, nearly 1,000km north of Ottawa, Canada (and 1,000km north of Toronto for my non-Canadian readers) Hearst is known for three things; softwood lumber, hardwood lumber and cold winters. To no surprise, after our 12 hour drive up North from Ottawa, we were immediately treated to a spectacular display of everything Hearst has to offer; gorgeous forests as far as the eye could see, coated in icy white powdery snow. Truly a winter wonderland!

The view was so phenomenal that we decided to take a little break from our filming project and get out for some snowshoeing through the forests and river that cuts through the city of maybe a dozen blocks. Of course, I’ve had the UAV follow us. Check out the short video snippet of the gorgeous scenery on Canada’s True North.

One of the most rewarding (and perhaps the coldest) projects, we’ve really enjoyed working up North, and can’t wait to tackle more projects in Canada’s True North!
